Have you ever been asked if you play a certain sport because of your color or height? Have you ever been asked to help with a math problem just because you wear glasses or because the way your eyes are shaped? Have you ever gotten an answer in English, even though your question was well-phrased in German?

We all know how it feels to be put in a ‘belief box’ – for some of us it’s a comfortable one, for others less so. In turn, at some point in our lives, we have put others into a belief box, deliberately or accidentally. How we respond and how we hold ourselves accountable is what creates change, denormalises the so called ‘’normal’’ and makes the world a better place – for all of us.

Diversity is what enriches our lives, makes us unlearn what we have learned and makes us shake our belief systems. In doing so we develop an all-embracing world view and we make the best out of it – by growing friendships and building deep relationships. Stereotypes and prejudices on the other hand, walk side by side. Facing our belief box is a crucial step in smashing the walls that keeps us from seeing what we truly are.

Let’s celebrate diversity, let’s play with stereotypes in a fun, and mindful way and grow together by bursting our belief-box-bubble. Join us – and as Kurt Cobain put it – come as you are!
